The exhibition "YOU ARE MY PILLOW" invites us into an intimate world where softness meets strength, and fragility converges with freedom. Through a series of new works, Ana Pusica explores the layers of protection and identity, using the canvas as a space for dialogue between that which shelters us and that which sets us free.

In her latest series, Ana Pušica transitions from the surface of the canvas to the volume of the object. By hand-sewing and stuffing her paintings, she transforms the "sweet dream" aesthetics—ochre, pink, and green—into a heavy, physical presence.

The pillow is not just a motif here; it is a psychological archive. It is the site where the somatic meets the symbolic—where secrets, fears, and maternal transitions are stitched into the material. The deliberate slowing down of the process through needle and thread acts as a meditative resistance to the frantic pace of the everyday.

At the heart of the showcase are pieces that speak of continuity and transformation: from the autonomy of Sovereign 17 and the identity shift in The Mom Before Mom, to the total immersion of I am your pillow and the eventual liberation in Becky, Be Free, the exhibition invites you to navigate the tension between identity, memory, and the search for comfort.

Die Ausstellung „YOU ARE MY PILLOW“ lädt uns in eine intime Welt ein, in der Weichheit auf Stärke trifft und Zerbrechlichkeit mit Freiheit verschmilzt. In einer Reihe neuer Werke erkundet Ana Pušica die Schichten von Schutz und Identität und nutzt die Leinwand als Raum für einen Dialog zwischen dem, was uns geborgen hält, und dem, was uns befreit.

In ihrer neuesten Serie vollzieht Ana Pušica den Übergang von der Fläche der Leinwand zum Volumen des Objekts. Durch das Handnähen und Ausstopfen ihrer Gemälde verwandelt sie die Ästhetik des „süßen Traums“ – Ocker, Rosa und Grün – in eine schwere, physische Präsenz. Das Kissen ist hier nicht nur ein Motiv; es ist ein psychologisches Archiv. Es ist der Ort, an dem das Somatische auf das Symbolische trifft – wo Geheimnisse, Ängste und mütterliche Übergänge in das Material eingenäht werden. Die bewusste Verlangsamung des Prozesses durch Nadel und Faden fungiert als meditativer Widerstand gegen das hektische Tempo des Alltags.

Im Zentrum der Ausstellung stehen Werke, die von Kontinuität und Transformation erzählen: von der Autonomie in Sovereign 17 und dem Identitätswandel in The Mom Before Mom bis hin zum völligen Eintauchen in I am your pillow und der schließlichen Befreiung in Becky, Be Free. Die Ausstellung lädt dazu ein, das Spannungsfeld zwischen Identität, Erinnerung und der Suche nach Trost zu erkunden.
